India and the Maldives have marked a milestone in their defence ties with the laying of the foundation stone for the Coast Guard ‘Ekatha Harbour’ in the Uthuru Thila Falhu atoll.
India-Maldives Relations:

- Grant assistance of 100 million Rufiyaa (currency of Maldives) for the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) scheme.
- India needs to play a crucial role in ensuring regional security in South Asia by having good relationships with South Asian countires to counter china.
