Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam every year in India. How to apply for SSC CGL Exam 2020?
You can apply for SSC CGL Exam through Online mode only.
Step 1 – Register yourself through SSC CGL official website.
Step 2- Fill the application form with required details i.e Personal, Educational, Post Name, etc.
Step 3 – Upload scanned photograph and signature as per requirements mentioned in the official notification.
Step 4 – Preview and verify the information provided by you and Submit the Application.
Step 5 – Take out the Print Out of the Application Form for future reference.
Note: Use a valid email ID that should be kept active till the declaration of results. You should keep a scanned photograph and signature ready as per requirements mentioned in the official notification.

SSC CGL Application Fee
- The application or registration fees for SSC CGL exam is Rs. 100/- for male candidates belonging to UR and OBC category.
- SC/ST, Differently abled, ex-servicemen and female candidates have been exempted from application fee.
- You have to pay the application fee via Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking. You can also pay the application fee via offline mode only through challan of SBI. You have to make the payment at designated branches of SBI within the working hours of the bank up to 29-11-2019 provided the challan has been generated by them before 27-11-2019 (17:00).
SSC CGL Exam Notification- Selection Process
The SSC CGL Selection Process is based on four stages –
- Tier-I (Computer Based Exam). The objective-based exam will contain questions from General Intelligence, Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language And Comprehension
- Tier-II (Computer Based Exam). The questions will be based on Arithmetic Ability, English Language & Comprehension, Statistics, General Studies-Finance and Economics
- Tier-III (Descriptive Exam). This paper consists of Descriptive Paper which includes Letter Writing and Application Writing. Letter writing includes both formal letter (letter to editor, letter to the municipality, etc) and informal letter ( letter to a friend, etc)
- Tier-IV Data Entry Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test/DV. This tier consists of Document Verification and Data Entry Skill Test (DEST)/ Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)
What is the SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria?
Educational Qualifications (As on 1st January 2020)
(A) Assistant Audit Officer/AAO (Assistant Accounts Officer) – Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute.
(B) Junior Statistical Officer – Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard. OR Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.
(C) Statistical Investigator Grade-II – Bachelor‟s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized University or Institute. Note: Statistics should be a subject in all the three years of the graduation course.
(D) All other Posts – Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised University.
Note: Those who are appearing in the final year of their graduation can also apply but they should complete their graduation before 1st August 2018.

What is the SSC CGL Exam Pattern?

Stage 1: SSC CGL Tier-1
→ It is a computer-based online test of 200 marks in 60 minutes of time duration. Every question weighs 2 marks each. There is a negative marking of 0.50 Marks for each wrong answer. Stage 3: SSC CGL Tier-3
→ This is a descriptive type paper of 100 marks and will be conducted in Pen and Paper mode. It will be a total of 60 minutes of time duration.
Stage 4: SSC CGL Tier-4
→ Tier-IV of the SSC CGL Recruitment Examination is Data Entry Skill Test (DEST)/Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). This test is of qualifying nature. The DEST test is for the Tax Assistant Post only.

How to download the SSC CGL answer key?
To download the SSC CGL answer key, you will have to follow the given steps
Step 1: You can download the SSC CGL Answer Key and Question Papers through the link given on the top of the official webpage.
Step 2: Enter your roll number and password (DOB) in the provided column.
Step 3: Click on the ‘Submit’ button after entering all the details.
Step 4: The SSC CGL Answer Key will appear on the screen.
Step 5: Download the OMR sheet and answer key for matching the responses and calculate marks.
How to Challenge the Answer key provided by SSC?
If you think that the answer provided by the commission is incorrect and your answer is correct, then you have the option to challenge the answer key. To do the same, you will have to log in using your username and password. A fee of Rs.100/- will have to be paid online per question challenged.
Steps to challenge –
- While viewing your answer key, you can see the option to ‘challenge’ on the top right corner.
- Once you click on ‘challenge’ then here’s what you need to fill your Roll number.
- Click on ‘proceed’.
- Choose a mode of payment and make the payment accordingly.
- Note that no matter how many questions you need to challenge, you can only pay Rs. 100 at a time. So you have to pay separately for each question that you want to challenge.
- After you complete the payment, click on the option ‘Fill Challenge Form’
- You will now need to fill:
- Roll No.
- Name
- Mobile Number
- Question Number
- Correct Option
- Reason (In English, Max 300 characters. No special character.)
- Hit ‘submit’
- A message will be displayed that ‘Your challenge has been uploaded properly.
