IBPS PO Exam
IBPS PO Recruitment Notification 2020 is out. IBPS conducts a common IBPS PO Exam every year to recruit Probationary Officers in various banks that participate in this exam. The Prelims exam will be conducted on 3rd,10th October 2020 and the mains are going to be conducted on 28th November 2020! Once you qualify the whole exam (prelims, mains and interview), you are hired as a Probationary Officer in one of the participating banks as per your preference and merit.
After getting recruited as an IBPS PO, you will be getting a handsome salary including other allowances. The final salary of IBPS PO officer including HRA, DA, etc. may go up to Rs. 38,360 – 40,700/- initially. This will increase along your career path at the bank.
This year, 20 banks are participating in the IBPS PO 2020 Exam. An adequate number of candidates in each category are shortlisted by IBPS depending upon requirements for Online Main Examination.
Online Mains Examination
You must qualify the sectional as well as overall cutoff in Mains to be eligible for Interview.
Interview
Your Interview will be conducted by the Participating Organizations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS.
Final Result
The Final result is declared on the basis of your combined performance in IBPS PO Mains and Interview.
Provisional Allotment
The provisional allotment of the qualified candidates is released on the official website. The IBPS Banks are allotted based on candidates’ preferences which are made at the time of online application.
IBPS plays a vital role in the selection process only till the provisional allotment to different banks. After that, the responsibility to intimate the qualified candidates about their joining dates and procedure is the responsibility of the respective bank.

A total of 1167 vacancies have been announced through the IBPS PO Recruitment Notification.
IBPS PO Eligibility 2020
Overall, there are 3 criteria on which the eligibility of a candidate is judged for IBPS PO. You need to qualify these eligibility standards to apply for this exam. These 3 criteria are broadly classified into the following categories:
IBPS Age Limit for PO Exam (as by 1st August 2020):
Minimum Age – 20 years
Maximum Age – 30 years
You need to fall under this upper & lower age limit to apply for IBPS PO.
IBPS Age Relaxation for PO Exam (as by 1st August 2020):
The Age Relaxation for IBPS PO Exam will be applicable as per Govt. norms. The IBPS PO Age Relaxation for different categories are as follows:
SC/ST – 5 years
OBC (Non – Creamy Layer) – 3 years
PWD – 10 years
Persons affected by 1984 Riots – 5 years
Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers with 5 years’ service completed & released – 5 years
Jammu & Kashmir domiciled during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 – 5 years
IBPS PO Educational Qualification (as on 28th August 2020):
Graduation Degree: The eligibility criteria for the IBPS PO 2020 is a graduation degree (BA, B.Com, BSc, B.Tech or as such) in any discipline from a University recognized by Government of India.
You must be in have a valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that certifies that you are a graduate on the day you register for this exam, and must indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering for the IBPS Bank-PO examination.
Computer Literacy: Working knowledge of computer is necessary for the job as well as to give the IBPS PO exam which is conducted in online mode.
Language Proficiency: It is desirable to have Verbal and written proficiency in official language of the State/UT. You must be able to read, write and speak the language.
IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2020
The IBPS PO Exam is conducted in 3 stages out of which the first 2 stages are online written exams and the 3rd stage takes place by interviewing of candidates. The 3 stages are as follows:

IBPS PO Interview
There is one-fourth negative marking in both Prelims & Mains for each question wrongly marked.
IBPS PO Prelims is qualifying in nature & is not counted towards the final total.
Once you clear IBPS PO 2020 Prelims, you will be eligible to appear for IBPS PO Mains.
You will be selected for the Interviews through the marks you have obtained in IBPS PO Mains Exam only.
Once you clear all these 3 stages, you will be selected as a Bank PO.
IBPS has made major changes in the IBPS PO Exam Pattern for Mains exam. The IBPS PO Mains will be similar in pattern to the SBI PO Mains. The IBPS PO Mains Exam will now be consisting of total 155 Questions with a duration of 3 hours.

The Difficulty level has increased due to the changed exam pattern. It will have two parts – Objective Test – 200 marks & Descriptive Test – 50 marks

Penalty for Wrong Answers:
There is a penalty for wrong answers in the Objective Tests of both Prelims and Mains.
A wrong answer to an objective question by the candidate will lead to a penalty of 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question. For example, 0.25 marks will be deducted as penalty for wrong answer to a question that carries 1 mark.
There will be no penalty for leaving a question blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate.
C. Interview 2020
The Interview consists of 100 marks. The weightage (ratio) of Mains Exam & IBPS PO Interview is 80:20, for the final selection. The final selection will be based on the combined total of both the stages.
Final Score Calculation for IBPS PO Exam
The final score for the IBPS PO exam is calculated keeping the following points in mind:
• Marks obtained in the Prelims will not be considered in the final score and are only for qualifying to Mains Exam.
• You must qualify Mains and Interview separately to be eligible for final merit.
• The weightage (ratio) of CWE Main exam and Interview for final merit list will be 80:20 respectively.
• The aggregate score out of 100 is used for the final merit list for each category. If your name is on the final Merit List then you are selected.
